A fabulous carving and beautiful stone. This natural carved Jadite Chameleon and Gourd stone is a traditional subject of Jade carvers through the ages. The artist has taken full advantage of the natural beauty of this stone bringing out the unusual colors to highlight the design. The chameleon's body is delicately textured to imitate reality. The stone is attached to this olive green corded necklace by four varigated Jade beads, and the necklate itself has four smaller Jade beads, and one dark moss green carved oval bead. The necklace is decorated with rings of gold and olive thread, and wrapped with olive and gold threads to increase the visual appeal. The stone is 60 mm X 43 mm wide. The necklace is adjustible, hanging from 15" to 25". A wonderful and valuable piece.
